New for 2008 are two purpose built fibre-glass boats. Built by Stormcats, a local Islay company, the boats design was based on that of the traditional small fishing boats, seen commonly around the waters off Islay.

The engines (not pictured) are fully electric and as such do not produce any emissions. Which is in keeping with our environmental aims here on Ballinaby Farm.

Part of the farm has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) due to the high volume of wildlife and unusual plant life in the area.
